Experience Built From the Field Up
IBC Hawaiʻi is led by Trisha Egge, a construction and building envelope professional with more than 25 years of experience in Hawaiʻi’s construction industry.
Trisha began her career in the field as a Union Local 221 roofer and waterproofer, installing commercial roofing and waterproofing systems throughout Hawaiʻi. From there, her career progressed through quality control and quality assurance, estimating, glazing and window systems, business leadership, building envelope consulting, forensic investigation, construction administration, and construction management.
That progression provides a perspective that is difficult to gain from one side of the industry alone.
Trisha understands how building systems are installed in the field, how projects are bid and constructed, how work is reviewed and documented, how failures are investigated, and how repair programs are developed and executed. She also understands the practical realities of schedule, budget, permitting, procurement, constructability, and communication among Owners, contractors, architects, engineers, manufacturers, and property stakeholders.
Today, that experience is brought together through IBC Hawaiʻi.
Technical Experience. Practical Project Leadership.
IBC Hawaiʻi approaches construction management and consulting with a strong technical foundation.
Trisha’s experience includes roofing, waterproofing, windows and glazing, exterior wall systems, building envelope investigation and testing, forensic evaluation, repair planning, permitting, procurement, construction administration, and construction management.
Her forensic work has included destructive investigation, water testing, code and standards research, field data analysis, defect documentation, repair recommendations, cost-of-repair analysis, mediation support, and litigation-related consulting.
Her construction administration and management experience includes competitive bidding, contractor coordination, constructability review, submittal and RFI review, field observations, testing, schedule and budget oversight, change order evaluation, progress documentation, and project closeout.
That combination allows IBC Hawaiʻi to do more than manage meetings and schedules. We understand the work being discussed, recognize potential issues early, ask informed questions, and help project teams make decisions based on the technical, financial, and practical realities of construction.
Independent by Practice
IBC Hawaiʻi may be retained by an Owner, association, property manager, contractor, design professional, manufacturer, or another project stakeholder.
Regardless of who hires us, our benchmark remains the same: Is the Owner receiving the work and performance they are paying for?
For building envelope and construction work, that means objectively evaluating whether the work observed is consistent with the contract documents, approved submittals, applicable codes and standards, and the manufacturer’s published requirements for the system being installed.
Our role is not to advocate for an installation simply because of who retained us. It is to observe objectively, document accurately, identify concerns when they arise, and help the project team resolve them while corrective action is still practical.
This independence benefits everyone.
When work is properly installed and documented, the Owner has greater confidence that they are receiving the building or repair they purchased. Contractors have independent documentation supporting the quality of their work. Designers have greater confidence that the work in the field reflects the project requirements. Manufacturers have greater assurance that their systems are being installed as intended.
And when something is not right, identifying it during construction is almost always better than discovering it after the building begins to fail.
We Represent the Owner
At IBC Hawaiʻi, representing the Owner is a professional standard, not simply a contractual relationship.
The ultimate purpose of construction is to deliver what the Owner contracted and paid to receive.
That principle does not change based on who writes our check.
Whether IBC Hawaiʻi is serving directly as the Owner’s representative or providing independent third-party consulting for another member of the project team, we evaluate the work through the same lens:
Is it being built correctly? Is it appropriately documented? Does it meet the project requirements? And is the Owner receiving the performance they were promised?
Our experience across installation, contracting, consulting, forensic investigation, and construction management allows us to understand the interests and pressures affecting every party on a project without losing sight of that fundamental responsibility.
The Owner should receive what they paid for.
That principle guides our work on every project.
Experience Across Hawaiʻi Properties
Trisha’s professional experience spans projects ranging from individual building investigations to large-scale repair, renovation, new construction, and capital improvement programs throughout Hawaiʻi.
AOAO & Condominium Communities
Experience includes building envelope assessments and repairs, plumbing and infrastructure replacement, roofing and waterproofing, window and door systems, elevated lanais and railings, forensic investigations, permitting, phased repair programs, and construction administration.
Working with condominium communities requires more than technical expertise. Projects must often account for occupied buildings, Board priorities, reserve planning, owner communication, phasing, access, budget constraints, and the long-term needs of the property.
Hospitality & Resort Properties
Experience includes major Hawaiʻi resort and hospitality properties involving roofing, waterproofing, exterior envelope systems, leak investigation, testing, repair and renovation, construction administration, and quality observations.
Resort projects bring their own challenges: maintaining operations, coordinating work around guests and staff, protecting revenue-generating areas, sequencing construction carefully, and balancing immediate repairs with long-term asset performance.
Commercial & Institutional Properties
Experience includes forensic investigation, code research, building envelope evaluation, water intrusion investigation, repair planning, quality assurance, construction-phase observations, and project closeout.
Luxury Residential & Coastal Construction
Experience includes high-end residential construction involving glazing, roofing, waterproofing, exterior envelope systems, investigation, repair, and complex coastal exposure conditions.
Forensic & Dispute-Related Consulting
Trisha has extensive experience investigating completed construction when performance does not meet expectations.
That work has included destructive testing, water testing, code and standards research, field documentation, defect analysis, repair recommendations, cost-of-repair evaluation, mediation support, depositions, settlement discussions, and litigation-related consulting.
Forensic work provides an important perspective on construction management: understanding how and why buildings fail makes it easier to recognize risk before those failures are concealed behind finished construction.

Additional Construction Experience
Earlier construction experience includes roofing, waterproofing, glazing, windows, doors, quality assurance, estimating, and field installation on commercial, resort, condominium, institutional, and luxury residential projects throughout Hawaiʻi.
This hands-on foundation continues to inform how IBC Hawaiʻi evaluates constructability, installation quality, sequencing, documentation, and long-term building performance today.
Local Knowledge Matters
Construction in Hawaiʻi presents challenges that are not always apparent on a set of drawings.
Coastal exposure, wind-driven rain, intense UV exposure, salt air, material availability, shipping and lead times, occupied buildings, permitting requirements, limited specialty trades, site logistics, and Hawaiʻi’s climate can all influence how a project should be planned and executed.
Local relationships matter as well.
Over decades in Hawaiʻi’s construction industry, Trisha has developed working relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, suppliers, manufacturers, property managers, building professionals, and government agencies.
Those relationships do not replace process or accountability. They help IBC Hawaiʻi understand how to navigate the process, identify appropriate resources, communicate effectively, and solve problems when projects become complicated.
Experience That Serves the Project
IBC Hawaiʻi was built around a straightforward principle:
Good projects require informed decisions, clear expectations, objective documentation, and accountability.
Our experience allows us to see a project from multiple perspectives—the installer, contractor, consultant, investigator, construction manager, and Owner.
That perspective helps us anticipate problems rather than simply document them afterward.
Whether we are helping an Owner define a capital improvement program, assisting a contractor with independent quality observations, investigating water intrusion, reviewing work in progress, or managing a project from planning through closeout, our standard remains consistent:
Do the work correctly. Document it clearly. Address problems when they arise. And make sure the Owner receives what they paid for.
